GUWAHATI, March 2 � The State government has spent over Rs 2,100 crore between 2011-12 and 2013-14 under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) resulting in generation of over 9.66 crore mandays.
As per reports, among the reasons for low performance in these three fiscals were, good monsoon and increased harvesting, disparity in wages at open market and MGNREGA wage rate and limited working season.
