Rs 2 cr corpus fund for Donyi Polo school

ITANAGAR, Sept 25 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu yesterday paid a visit to Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing Impaired (DPMSHI) at Chimpu here � a brainchild of former CM Gegong Apang � to spend time with the differently-able schoolchildren.

While divulging that purpose of his visit was to get an understanding of the problems faced by the school and to assure of its well being, Khandu, who was accompanied by Home Minister Kumar Waii, thanked Apang for dedicating the school to educate the differently-abled children. �It�s because of him that our State�s differently-abled children are able to pursue their dreams,� he said.

To meet additional expenses of the school due to its growing student intake and teaching staff, Khandu announced an additional Rs 2 crore to the existing Rs 5 crore corpus funds, which was contributed earlier by former CM late Dorjee Khandu. He also announced a mini bus and a new common hall, which would be constructed this year.

Besides announcing to come up with a new hostel project to be taken up within this year, the CM also promised to lend support from the govt�s end to meet all requirements.
