GUWAHATI, Dec 12 - CID sleuths today raided the Beltola residence of businessman Harjeet Singh Bedi and seized Rs 1.50 crore in new Rs 2,000 Rs 500 denomination notes. Police said that the seizure strongly hinted at money laundering by some bank officials, adding that the income tax authorities are now probing the matter. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.
Bedi however claimed that he is the owner of the money and he has documents to prove it.
