GUWAHATI, Oct 7 - Traders dealing in China-made fancy products today staged a protest in Fancy Bazar area this noon against the government�s appeal to refrain from selling the imported products.
A section of traders in Fancy Bazar and adjoining areas also resorted to a shutdown after a team of government officials reportedly initiated searches looking for the stock position of the Chinese products. On the other hand, members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Assam Pradesh, too staged a protest against Chinese products and requested the shopkeepers of Mohan Market, Fancy Bazar not to sell such products. At the same time the BJYM also appealed to the consumers not to get lured by the cheap Chinese products.
