NAGAON, March 31 - The BJPs star campaigner, leader of NEDA and the State Finance Minister, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today took part in a huge election rally at Beltol near the Batadrova Than in Nagaon and campaigned for the alliance candidate for Kaliabor, Moni Madhav Mahanta.

Criticising the Congress candidate for the constituency, Dr Sarma said that the people of the constituency this time should root out the system of dynasty from Kaliabor constituency and should select and send a representative like Moni Madhav Mahanta, the alliance candidate for AGP-BJP who could speak about basic problems of the people of Kaliabor in Delhi. He said that earlier their representative from the Congress, had got little time to speak about the basic problems of the people of the constituency in Parliament. Dr Sarma in his speech highlighted the recent initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tackle the situation post-Palwama and also spoke about how Modi raised the countrys stature. For quick development and swift growth of the State as well as the entire country, he appealed to the people to cooperate and strengthen the hands of Modi by voting the alliance candidate Mahanta. Slamming former Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, Dr Sarma said that Singh represented Assam from 2004 to 2014 but did nothing for the State. If this time the Congress comes to power, it will confer Bharat Ratna on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi too and the terrorist activities will increase once again in the country, Dr Sarma added further.

Angoorlata Deka, MLA, Batadrova, Mamoni Bora, AGP activist and district leader, alliance candidate Moni Madhav Mahanta, BJPs Kaliabor district president, Anil Saikia were also present in the rally and appealed to the people to vote in favour of Moni Madhav Mahanta.
