Ronit, Janashree claim AITA titles

GUWAHATI, Nov 10 � Assam players � Ronit Bora and Janashree Saikia � claimed the boys� and girls� singles titles in the 5th India Club AITA (U-14) Championship Series held in India Club here today. In the finals, Ronit defeated Arith Bhuyan in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 in the boys� singles category while in the girls� section, Janashree Saikia prevailed over Debangana Barkakoti 7-6, 6-4 in a tight final.

In the boys� doubles event, Arith Bhuyan and Debashish Medhi got the better of Ronit Bora and Tulsi Tathagat Gogoi 5-3, 5-4.

In the closing ceremony, tournament director Gaurav Chowdhury welcomed the gathering. The prizes were given away by India Club president Prasanta Das, Promod Sethia of Sethia Company and Simanta Sharma of Dainik Janambhumi Group. India Club secretary general Anupam Chowdhury offered the vote of thanks.
