The Karbi community in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong observed Rongker here on Tuesday with religious fervour. Usually, the ritual is observed in the beginning of the year seeking harmony, opulence and good harvest by praying to the Almighty.
According to organizers, Rongker will be observed on other dates this month as per the advice of the kurusars or the high priests. Chief Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuliram Ronghang has extended his greetings to the people of Karbi Anglong on the occasion. – Correspondent
