Ronghang vows to fight for autonomous state

DIPHU, Nov 14 - The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang recently declared that he will step up the statehood movement and coerce the union government to grant statehood, comprising the hills of Assam.

Ronghang mentioned that he would do his level best to fulfil the aspirations of the general public. He was speaking at a public meeting at Bithung area of West Karbi Anglong.

Ronghang, while downplaying the APHLC leaders said that they were trying to gain the gullible people�s confidence with their sweet talk on the Sixth Schedule.

He speculated that the APHLC will never be able to garner public support because they lack a solid support base. He therefore appealed to the people to remain resolute and not be swayed or duped by political parties like APHLC with their superb gift of the gab.

While JI Kathar observed that the power of the Sixth Schedule was diminishing day by day, however on the contrary, Tuliram Ronghang observed: �Let me tell you that the power of the Sixth Schedule is still strong and intact as we are enjoying it very much. So do not be fooled or dismayed,� he told the gathering.

He also promised to uplift the poor and the needy and said that the BJP government will change the facade of the nation as well as Karbi Anglong by putting into action developmental schemes like Ayushman Bharat, Atal Amrit Abhijan and several others. Thousands of BJP supporters attended the meeting.
