GUWAHATI, April 13 � To celebrate the festival of the season � Rongali Bihu � with vigour and merriment, the people are ready and for the urban dwellers, the different Bihutolis have completed all the preparations to provide them the experience of the agrarian festival.
The Pub Guwahati Bihu Sanmilan in its 54th edition, will celebrate Bihu with a four day programme beginning on April 14 at Chandmari ground.
The Dakhin Pub Guwahati Rongali Bihu Sanmilan in its 58th edition will celebrate Bihu at Rajgarh Bihutoli from April 14 to 16. Apart from the regular sports and Bihu competitions, the organizers have made arrangements for programmes that will showcase the diverse folk culture of the state.
The Noonmati Bihu Sanmi-lan is celebrating Rongali Bihu with a four-day programme from April 14 to 17.
Various programmes have been chalked out for the four-day celebrations, the inauguration of which would be attended, among others, by Anuradha Sarma Pujari, Jogen Barpuzari, Dipankar Roy, Ananta Charan Mishra and JP Guharoy.
A prize money Bihuwati competition has been organized by Madya-Pub Guwahati Bihu Sanmilani at Silpukhuri here on April 15, a press release stated.
The first, second and third prize winners will be presented cash awards of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, the organisers informed.
The 32nd Brihattar Rukmininagar Rongali Bihu Sanmilan will be celebrated with a three day extravaganza from April 15. The organizers have included contests at the state level such as Bihu Hussori, Bihurani, and Jeng Bihu. There will be other competitions as well such as sports, quiz, go-as-you-like, etc.
