Role of Dhubri NRHM lauded

GAURIPUR, April 2 � Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI), Delhi has awarded certificate of appreciation to National Rural Health Mission, Dhubri for activities taken up during World Breast Feeding Week from August 1 to 7 in 2011 last in the best organisation category.

The activities conducted by the NRHM, Dhubri consisted of IEC/BCC activities like talk, meeting, rally street play etc. On breast feeding among the community people supported by various groups in blocks and PHC areas in Raniganj and South Salmara PHCs.

Anirban Goswami, district media expert, NRHM, Dhubri informed that the NRHM, Dhubri prepared and compiled a comprehensive report on the activities and sent to BPNI, Delhi and the NRHM, Dhubri was selected as one of the best units among ten organisational winners at the national level. The theme of the year-2011 was �Talk to me! Breastfeeding-a 3D experience�. People of the district hailed the NRHM, Dhubri for their achievement and urged upon the NRHM to organise awareness campaign in the remote areas of the district among the illiterate mothers of rural areas.
