Rohingya refugee crisis: India to help Bangladesh

NEW DELHI, Sept 14 - In a significant development, India has decided to extend assistance to Bangladesh in the face of the humanitarian crisis being faced on account of the large influx of refugees into the neighbouring country, official sources said. The Indian Government has decided to extend assistance to Bangladesh. The relief materials consist of items required urgently by the affected people, namely rice, pulses, sugar, salt, cooking oil, tea, ready-to-eat noodles, biscuits and mosquito nets, said the Ministry of External Affairs sources.

Meanwhile, referring to the Rohingya crisis, Advisor of All Assam Students Union (AASU), Samujjal Bhattacharya said that all the north-eastern States and the Centre should ensure that not a single Rohingya refugee is able to enter into the region.
