HAFLONG, Oct 28 - Most of the disrupted road communication except for Lanka -Umrangsu in Dima Hasao have been restored but the condition of the Haflong-Silchar road remains in a bad shape though a few cruiser services are there in the name of public transport.
Due to continuous rainfall since the last three days (October 25-27) almost all the roads leading to Haflong were disrupted and landslide and flash floods occurred in many places of the district.
Road blockades due to landslide were on the Silchar-Shillong road, N. Leikul- Jatinga-Retzawl Road, Retzawl-Diyung Road, Fiangpui -PGHJ road etc. Waterlogging occurred�at Langting railway station and Harichandrapur in Maibang. Landslides occurred at Fiangpui, Upper Muolhoi, Songpijang and Saron.
At least four irrigation schemes were affected at Diyungmukh subdivision (Irrigation) Diyungmukh. No casualty has been reported so far. Road communication from Haflong to Guwahati is open, but from Haflong to Silchar is very challenging.
