KOHORA, July 22 - Reiterating the demands for payment of a compensation of Rs 10 lakh and award of a job to a family member of the youth who was injured by a forest guard a couple of days back in the Mihimukh area, AATSA and other organisations blocked the National Highway-37 here today. The protesters later marched to the Kohora Range Office of the Kaziranga National Park and gheraoed it for a couple of hours. Later, the SDO (Civil) of Bokakhat and the Kaziranga DFO assured the protesters that a compensation of Rs 2 lakh would be given to the youth who is undergoing treatment at the GMCH, Guwahati, under government supervision.
As far as a job is concerned, the matter would be considered soon, said the sources.
