NORTH GUWAHATI, Aug 20 � Preliminary works for construction of a plant for manufacturing railway bogies at Amingaon have been completed after acquisition of 39 acres of land.
The land which has been made available belong to the Railways and so no difficulty arose in its acquisition. Of the 39 acres, 28 acres is spread over the front side of the office complex of the Kamrup DC. The erstwhile marshy land was converted to a tank under NREGA scheme under the initiative of Bezera Development Block.
However, the Railway authority is known to have finalised the plant here and works for construction of Railway bogies would start functioning from October 11 next. The plant would naturally create job opportunities for hundreds of unemployed youths, it is known.
