Rivers in State rising

GUWAHATI, May 7 - Many of the State�s rivers are maintaining a rising trend following increased rainfall activities over the northeastern region in the past several days.

According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) bulletin number 8 here today, the Brahmaputra is maintaining a rising trend at Dibrugarh, Neamatighat, Guwahati, Goalpara and Dhubri. The river is flowing above the warning level at Neamatighat.

The Ranganadi is maintaining a rising trend at NT Road Crossing in Lakhimpur district, the Subansiri is maintaining rising trend at both Chauldhowaghat and Badatighat in Lakhimpur district, the Burhidihing is maintaining a rising trend at Khowang in Dibrugarh district.

The Dhansiri (South) is flowing above the warning level at Numaligarh in Golaghat district. However, it is maintaining a falling trend. The Jia Bharali is flowing above its warning level at NT Road Crossing in Sonitpur district with a rising trend.

The Kopili is maintaining a rising trend both at Kampur and Dharamtul in Nagaon district. The Puthimari is flowing above the danger level at NH Road Crossing in Kampur district, but it is maintaining a falling trend.

The Barak is maintaining a rising trend at Annapurna Ghat in Cachar district, the bulletin said.
