GUWAHATI, Aug 4 � Rising XI and NF Railway NF Railway Sports Club recorded victories in today�s matches of the GSA A Division football league for the Jibeswar Goswami Trophy at the Nehru Stadium here today.
Wile Rising XI trounced Rajbari Athletic Club 3-1, NF Railway defeated Jewel Star Club by a margin of 2-0 goals. For both Rising and NFR it was the second consecutive victories.
Veteran Girindra Rabha, Padum Rabha and Hangama Basumatary were the goal scorers for the Rising team, while Tomba Singh reduced the margin off a spot kick.
Today, Girindra led his team�s frontliners with great deal of determination and speed. He not only scored the first goal but also set the ball for Padum and Hangma who made no mistake in converting.
For the Railway outfit, senior players Prasanta Bharali and Susanta Mazumder were the goal getters. For most of the time the Railwaymen shared the ball and created several openings.
