Rishav hits ton, Assam 269/5

GUWAHATI, Dec 1 - Forced to follow on, Assam were 269 for five in the second innings in their Ranji Trophy Group B match against Jharkhand at Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.

On the third day of the four-day match, in reply to Jharkhand�s first innings total of 316, Assam were all out for 126 in the first innings and were forced to follow on today.

Assam batsmen batted confidently in the morning session adding 68 runs for the opening wicket partnership between Pallav Das and Rishav Das. Rishav was in fine form and scored 113. He and Sib Sankar Roy (batting 80) yielded 87 runs for the second wicket. But after the fall of Rishav�s wicket, Assam lost three quick wickets in the form of Amit Verma (10), Kunal Saikia (0) and Amit Sinha (4).

Assam has secured a 79-run lead with five wickets in hand.
