By Sobhapati Samom

SENAPATI, March 26 Nagaland-based Naga Peoples Front (NPF) has kicked off their election campaign for their candidate Soso Lorho of the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections at Senapati district headquarter ground today.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio who is the NPF advisor and President of the party, Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu led ministerial delegation along with Manipurs four NPF MLAs attended the formal election campaign of the party which was attended by many tribal leaders and village chiefs.

Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu also released the 26-point manifesto of the party at the meeting.

Most of the speakers in the days election campaign called for reaching mutual understanding among the people living in the NE region of the country besides shedding the differences and work out how to co-exist together in this era of globalised world.

Terming a previous move to prevent NPF from entering Manipur in 2011 was undemocratic and unconstitutional, Rio reiterated that Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi is number one enemy as he failed to serve the people. Why I say he (Ibobi) has failed because he did not do justice to the people not to speak of addressing the minorities issues but serves his high commands in Delhi, he alleged.

He further alleged that the status of Kukis in Nagaland is safe. But in Manipur theyre not. But I never said Meiteis are our enemy. Meiteis are our good neighbours. We live together since time immemorial, the NPF candidate from Nagaland added.

The North East Regional Party Forum was constituted on October 28 last year and passed seven resolutions concerning the specific issues and problems of the NE States, Rio said, adding, NERPF which comprises 12 political parties, was formed to address the common issues of NE people.

NPF is not only for the Nagas but for the entire North East states. Time has come to understand each other, work out how to co-exist, cooperate and progress. This is an era of globalized world and global village. Let us shed our differences and work together and raise the voice together, said Rio. We want our regional leaders to serve the people.

He also accused the Ibobi-led Congress ministry in Manipur for diverting the railway line from the Diphu-Dimapur-Karong railway line to Silcher-Jiribam-Tupul besides the four-lane highways Dwarka-Guwahati-Dimapur-Imphal-Moreh to Dwarka-Guwahati-Silchar.

Nagalands planning and coordination minister TR Zeliang,NPFs president,NPF candidate Soso Lorho also spoke on the occasion.
