IMPHAL, Nov 25 - Union MoS for Health and Family Welfare Faggan Singh Kulaste inaugurated a Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit and a Research and Diagnostic Laboratory at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences here yesterday.
�The premier hospital run by the Centre would be elevated to a world class institute,� Kulaste assured. He also inspected the infrastructure and medical equipments of the hospital accompanied by RIMS Director Prof Ch Arunkumar Singh.
He assured all issues pertaining to RIMS would be taken up with Prime Minister. He also interacted with the striking interns of Dental College, RIMS. The interns launched a protest from Wednesday demanding their stipend be raised at par with MBBS students in the hospital.
He assured the protesting students to address the issue at the earliest and appealed for withdrawal of the protest.
