GUWAHATI, Aug 8 - Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju today hit back at the Congress leadership, alleging that the chief ministers of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur had made a U-turn on the issue of the peace agreement between the Centre and the NSCN(IM).

On the day of the agreement with the NSCN(IM), the chief ministers had initially welcomed it, but later they were summoned to New Delhi by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and were paraded before the media with a different version altogether, which is not right, Rijiju said, on the sidelines of a function at Sonapur.

He said, The move is for restoring peace and it is not right to do politics over the issue. This is a framework agreement, based on which things will take a final shape. There is no intention of keeping the draft a secret,

Rijiju said.

The interests and sentiments of the people of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur will not be bypassed, the Union Minister assured.
