GUWAHATI, Dec 5 � In a meeting chaired by chief minister Tarun Gogoi, to review the preparatory arrangements being made for the implementation of the Assam Right to Public Services Act, 2012 it was decided that the Act will be implemented in 2013 from forthcoming Bohag Bihu, stated an official press release.
Under the provisions of the Act, the government will provide certain notified public services to the eligible citizens in a time-bound manner.
All 13 departments overseeing the 47 services proposed to be notified initially for public service delivery have been advised to complete all the required arrangements for smooth delivery of the notified services from April, 2013.
Forty-seven services, proposed, to be notified initially include mutation, land holding certificate, certified copy of jamabandi, services provided in the registration offices, land valuation certificate, certified copy of mutation order, land partition, duplicate marksheet, duplicate pass certificate, migration certificate, valuation certificate of animal/bird for insurance, birth certificate, death certificate, building construction permission, trade licence, municipal holding certificate/holding mutation, learner licence, driving licence, vehicle registration, registration of co-operative societies under Co-operative Societies Act, 2007, permanent resident certificate (PRC) for higher education, issuance of NOC for the fire safety of building, application of registration under Rule 13 (1) of The Assam Value Added Tax Act, 2005, registration of name in Employment Exchange, Registration under the Assam Shops & Establishment Act, 1971, character verification (for job, passport and driving licences) next of kin certificate, SC certificate, ST certificate and non-creamy layer certificate. Later on in a phased manner additional services will be brought under the purview of the Act. A notification in this effect will be issued, the release added.
