RGU launches mass awareness camp on yoga

ITANAGAR, May 10 - In the run-up to the celebration of the 5th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21, the Department of Physical Education, Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hills (Doimukh) on Friday kicked off a mass awareness camp on yoga in the campus of Arunodaya University, Lekhi (Naharlagun) and the Workers Colony of RGU.

The participants were taught various asanas, pranayama by the students of post graduate diploma in yoga therapy education of the department. A total of 76 people were benefitted through the camps.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Arunodaya University Dr VN Sharma dwelt on the issue of lack of fitness among the citizens of the country. He also requested all participants to daily spare atleast 30 minutes for exercise and fitness.
