GUWAHATI, Oct 15 - The 115th birth anniversary of Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah will be observed by RG Baruah Smriti Rakhya Committee on October 17 with an elaborate programme.
The programme will begin with paying of floral tributes before the statue of RG Baruah on the bank of the Dighalipukhuri here at 7.30 am.
A public meet will be held at the auditorium of the Assam State Museum at 5 pm to recall the contributions of the architect of modern Assam.
To be presided over by president of the Committee DN Chakravartty, the meet will be addressed by veteran journalist Radhika Mohan Bhagawati, who will deliver a talk on the topic �Journalism in Assam and Singhapurush RG Baruah�.
Actor Biju Phukan, Arjuna Awardee Bhogeswar Baruah and veteran footballer Santosh Goswami will be felicitated on the occasion.
