GUWAHATI, Nov 28 - The results of the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial All Assam Art Competition, 2019, organised by the Assam Tribune Sports Club on November 10 last, were announced today.
The competition, held as a tribute to the architect of modern Assam RG Baruah and to promote the creative spirit among children and teenagers, was held at 30 locations of the State simultaneously. The locations are Guwahati, Morigaon, Raha, Nagaon, Diphu, Silchar, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Sonari, Dibrugarh, Duliajan, Digboi, Tinsukia, Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur, Biswanath Chariali, Tezpur, Mangaldai, Rangiya, Nalbari, Solmara, Tihu, Pathsala, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri and Goalpara.
The Group A (Class V to VIII) winners are � 1st: Sagarika Sarania, Class V, Guwahati Public School; 2nd: Neeharika Monta, Class VIII, Holy Name School, Sivasagar; 3rd: Himanshri Rajkhowa, Class VII, Christ Jyoti School, Nagaon; 4th: Abinash Phukan, Class VIII, Balya Bhawan, Jorhat; 5th: Bushra Ikbal Mazumder, Class VI, Don Bosco School, Silchar; 6th: Rajdeep Thakur, Class V, 1 No. Kamalabari Jr Basic School, Majuli; 7th: Nishthajita Kalita, Class VIII, Kiran Academy, Dhemaji; 8th: Anurag Singha, Class VIII, Axel Public School, Guwahati; 9th: Shovangee Das, Class V, St Mary�s HS School, Dibrugarh, and 10th: Priyanuj Das, Class VI, Renaissance Secondary School, Nagaon.
The winners in Group B (Class IX to XII) are � 1st: Juman Thakuria, Class X, South Point School, Guwahati; 2nd: Arpan Saikia, Class X, Suderashan Public School, Guwahati; 3rd: Ishan Tamuli, Class IX, Maria�s Public School; 4th: Biman Buragohain, Class X, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kimin, Lakhimpur; 5th: Harekrishna Boro, Class XII, Barnagar JRPHS & MP School, Sarbhog; 6th: Deepshikha Deb Nath, Class XI, Global Public Central School, Hailakandi; 7th: Madhuryya Borah, Class XI, Euclid Group of Institution, Rangiya; 8th: Anangsha Paul, Class XI, SPSH School, Dhubri; 9th: Nabadip Sarma, Class X, Patacharkuchi Bidyapith and 10th: Sankar Saha, Class XII, Rangiya HS School.
For Group A, the topic was �I Wish to Fly� and for Group B the topic was �Advancement of Science�.
The prizes will be distributed at a programme to be held at�the Assam Tribune�Sports Club at 3 pm on December 13. In both the categories, the first three winners will each get prize money of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively, besides a trophy and a certificate. The other winners (from 4th to 10th) in both the groups will receive a cash prize of Rs 1,000 each, besides a trophy and a certificate.
The Club�s president Hiranya Kumar Barman and secretary Bhaskar Das said that an exhibition of the prize-winning paintings will be held on the prize-distribution day and they will also be published in The Assam Tribune and Dainik Asam phase-wise.
