GUWAHATI, Nov 17 - The results of the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial All Assam Art Competition, 2018, organised by Assam Tribune Sports Club on October 14, were announced today.
The competition, organised to recognise young talents and promote them, was held simultaneously at 37 centres across 25 places - Guwahati, Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Sonari, Dibrugarh, Duliajan, Tinsukia, Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur, Biswanath Chariali, Tezpur, Mangaldai, Nalbari, Salmara, Tihu, Pathsala, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri and Goalpara. A team of well known artists and art connoisseurs evaluated the paintings.
In Group A (Class V to VIII) the winners are 1st: Aradhana Bordoloi, Class VIII, Sariahtali ME School Pachim Bula, Nagaon; 2nd: Neeharika Manta, Class VII, Holy Name School, Sivasagar; 3rd: Bhabana Tamooli, Class VII, St Mary�s High School, Guwahati; 4th: Samiran Kalita, Class VII, Christ Jyoti School, Nagaon; 5th: Himangshu Roy, Class VI, Guwahati Public School, Guwahati; 6th: Deepam Patowary, Class VII, Junior Commonwealth High School, Guwahati; 7th: Ishan Tamuli, Class VIII, Maria�s Public School, Guwahati; 8th: Jinti Barman, Class VIII, New Guwahati Adarsha High School, Guwahati; 9th: Angshuman Das, Class VII, Carmel School, Jorhat and 10th: Liza Rahman, Class VIII, St Mary�s HS, Guwahati.
The winners in Group B (Class IX to XII) are 1st: Barsha Das, Class XII, Gauhati Commerce College; 2nd: Jumon Thakuria, Class IX, South Point School, Guwahati; 3rd: Prince Das, Class XII, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nagaon; 4th: Tapan Malakar, Class IX, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh; 5th: Anangsha Paul, Class X, SP English Medium High School, Dhubri; 6th : Jyotismriti Bordoloi, Class XII, Debraj Roy College, Golaghat; 7th: Darshana Devi, Class IX, Sankardev Vidya Niketan, Kapahera, Morigaon; 8th: Namrata Dutta, Class XI, Vectors Academy, Guwahati; 9th: Jyotismita Deka, Class X, Ananda Vidya Niketan, Nalbari and 10th: Champak Thakuria, Class XII, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko.
For Group A, the topic was �Childhood Games� and for Group B the topic was �Service to Mankind�. The prizes will be distributed among the winners at a programme to be held at the Assam Tribune Sports Club on November 30 at 3 pm. In both the categories, the first three winners will each get a prize money of Rs 15,000, Rs 10000 and Rs 7,000 respectively besides a trophy and certificate. The other winners will receive a cash prize of Rs 1,000 each, besides a trophy and a certificate.
The club�s president Hiranya Kumar Barman and secretary Bhaskar Das said an exhibition of the prize winning paintings will be held on the prize distribution day and those would also be published in The Assam Tribune and Dainik Asam phase-wise.
