RG Baruah art competition on Oct 14

GUWAHATI, Sept 29 - The Assam Tribune Sports Club will hold the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial State-level Art Competition on October 14 simultaneously in around 25 places of Assam.

The competition will be held in two groups. While Group A will include competitors from Class V to Class VIII, Group B will have competitors from Class IX to Class XII.

The theme of the competition in Group A is �Childhood Games� and that in Group B is �Service to Mankind�. The competition will be held from 11 am in Guwahati, Morigaon, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Sonari, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Duliajan, Dhemaji, North Lakhimpur, Biswanath Chariali, Tezpur, Mangaldai, Nalbari, Salmara, Tihu, Pathsala, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Goalpara, etc.

The duration of the competition will be of one hour and there will be no joining fee. To join the competition, one has to fill up the application form which will be published in the Dainik Asam from October 3 to 10. Participants will have to submit the forms within October 10 through the respective local newspaper agents to confirm their participation.

In Guwahati, those who want to participate at the Assam Tribune centre, will have to submit the application forms in the drop box to be available at the reception counter of the Tribune buildings during office hours.

The first three awards of the competition in both groups will be Rs 15,000 along with a trophy and certificate, Rs 10,000 along with a trophy and certificate and Rs 7,000 along with a trophy and certificate. Moreover, participants who get fourth to tenth positions will be awarded Rs 1,000 each along with a certificate and a trophy. All other participants will also get certificates, which will be dispatched through the local newspaper agents or correspondents.

The selected art works will be displayed at an exhibition to be held in Guwahati and will also be published in The Assam Tribune and Dainik Asam. Moreover, all winners will be feted at a function to be held in Guwahati.
