RG Baruah art competition held

NALBARI, Oct 14 - Altogether 190 students from class-V to HS level took part in the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah art competition organised by the Assam Tribune Sports Club at Nalbari town today.

The competition held at MNC Balika Vidyapith High School was inaugurated by Dr Amar Nayak, Professor of English Department, Nalbari College. Inaugurating the event, which was held in different districts simultaneously today, Dr Nayak said that it will provide a congenial atmosphere to the art-loving students to show their talents. He considered that it is a great effort on the part of The Assam Tribune Group of Newspapers. Earlier Mukul Sarma, a popular artist of the district lit the earthen lamp before the portrait of Radha Govinda Baruah. The art competition was conducted by local scribes Ramen Kalita, Manoj Sarma, Kamini Kanta Misra and paper distributor Surendra Nath Baishya.

Bongaigaon: The Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial Art Competition was held here at Jnanodaya Jatiya Vidyalaya, North Bongaigaon today. Noted physician, Dr Itesh Bordoloi inaugurated the competition and exhorted the participants to hone their skills by participating in such competitions.

Dhubri: Under the aegis of the Assam Tribune Sports� Club, the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial Art Competition was held at the Girls College, Dhubri.

Students from almost all the schools of Dhubri participated in the competition which was attended by senior artist and social worker, Dopeankar Dev Boral and journalist Ashiqur Rahman, Arun Pal, Mrinmoy Adhikari and many others.

Morigaon: The Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial art competition organised by the Assam Tribune Sports Club was held here at Sanjivani Kala Niketan, Morigaon with enthusiasm. Amidst a huge gathering, the competition was inaugurated by Narendra Nath Keot, Retired Principal of Morigaon College and founder president of Morigaon Zila Sahitya Sabha. In his inaugural speech, he dwelt at length about the contributions of Late RG Baruah towards the modern journalism of Assam. He thanked the Assam Tribune Sports Club for organising the competition throughout the State and said that this will create awareness about the RG Baruah among the school students.

In the function, Birendra Kumar Nath�s book Monei Mathura, Hridoy Brindabon was released by NN Keot, former Principal, Morigaon College. A large number of guardians, journalists also took part in the function. Altogether 86 students of different schools of the district participated in this competition.

KOKRAJHAR: Along with other parts of the State, the Singhapurush Radha Govinda Baruah Memorial All Assam Art Competition was also held today here at Kokrajhar.

The competition was held at MCM Woodland School, Kokrajhar. Arun Kumar Chetry, Principal of the school formally inaugurated the competition in the presence of Malay Kanti Shom, local newspapers agents, Ananya Dey, art teacher, Kishore Sarkar, Kokrajhar correspondent of The Assam Tribune, Ashok Kr Barman, Kokrajhar correspondent of Dainik Asam and other invited guests and dignitaries.

More than 60 students from different schools of Kokrajhar participated in the event.
