Revised COVID-19 SOP for armed forces in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, July 25 - A revised standard operating procedure (SOP) for COVID-19 screening and management in respect of Army, CAPF (Central Armed Police Forces), NDRF and BRO has been decided for effective COVID-19 management in Arunachal Pradesh.

As per the revised SOP, the Forces based in Arunachal Pradesh will have their own quarantine facilities and will conduct rapid antigen tests of all returnees as per the protocol developed by the State Health Department and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

The COVID-19 management and screening strategy with respect to the armed forces and paramilitary forces was discussed on Friday during a video conference held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. The virtual meet was attended by Health Minister Alo Libang, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, the Commander of 3 Corp, the Commander of 4 Corp, DG, NDRF, ADG, ITBP, ADG, BRO, IG, CRPF (Jorhat) and senior officers of the State Government and the Assam Rifles.

Further, all the armed forces will appoint nodal officers for Arunachal Pradesh for on-ground coordination with the Commissioner (Home), who is the nodal officer of the State Government, and district-level nodal officers will be appointed for this purpose.
