Review meet held ahead of President, Dalai Lama�s visit

GUWAHATI, March 27 - In view of President Pranab Mukherjee and The Dalai Lama�s visit to Guwahati for the Namami Brahmaputra festival, a high-level review meeting was held at the Guwahati Circuit House today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro, Dr M Angamuthu.

It was also attended by Commissioner of Police Hiren Nath, Kamrup Metro Development Commissioner Barnali Sharma, Army 404 Corps Officer Col RK Rawat, DCP (Traffic) AD Kaur, DCP Ranjan Bhuyan, all the Additional Deputy Commissioners, all Circle Officers, officers from APDCL, PWD, PHE, GMC and GMCH.

Dr Angamuthu ordered PWD to construct helipads at the Judges� Field and the Nehru Stadium. He also ordered that the Hem Baruah Road be maintained as an alternative arterial road.

MMCH, GMCH and Railway Hospital will be the emergency hospitals for the VVIPs.

The meeting also reviewed the matter of sufficient parking place so that the public do not face any difficulties.

Dr Angamuthu asked GMC to maintain proper cleanliness and APDCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply on the occasion.

He also asked Additional DC P Mahanta to provide adequate number of volunteers to control the crowd who will visit the site of the Namami Brahmaputra festival.
