GUWAHATI, Feb 20 � The third reunion of 1949 Gauhati University matriculates is proposed to be held on March 8 here. A press release stated that all concerned are welcome to join the event together with their spouses or companions.
It will be a day-long programme from 10 am to 5 pm. Interested persons have been urged to inform about their willingness to participate in the reunion to any one of the conveners for registration and other details within March 1, the press release added.
The conveners of the event are Renuka Devi Borkotoki, chairperson, Indian Red Cross Society, Assam; Dilip Hazarika, advocate, Gauhati High Court; Dhireswar Gohain, former director, Assam Petrochemicals; Prof Dilip Barua, former professor and head of English department, Burdwan University; Dr Tolan Saikia, former professor of Physiology, Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh; Heramba Sarma, advocate, Tezpur; Ahalya Gogoi, president, Assam Academy of Cultural Relations, Guwahati; Anjali Dutta Choudhury, Shillong; Prafulla Govinda Baruah, editor, The Assam Tribune and Prof Anil Goswami, former principal, Cotton College, Guwahati.
The organisers hope that the reunion will continue to provide a unique forum for strengthening fellowship and socio-cultural networking among the fraternity, the press release concluded.
