Retd govt employee facing pension-related problems

GOALPARA, Sept 16 - One Subhash Chandra Ghosh, who retired as a senior assistant-cum-accountant from the District Veterinary Office, Goalpara on May 18, 2018 has been facing extreme financial hardships due to non-receipt of full pension from the government till date.

Talking to this correspondent, Ghosh alleged that he has been frustrated by the callous attitude of the concerned department. A senior officer has delayed the entire process and even though the matter was taken up with the Commissioner and Secretary, Government of Assam, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, but in vain, he alleged.

Ghosh also informed this correspondent that he had already filed several complaints, including one with the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam against the present I/C DVO, Goalpara for deliberately misusing his official position and also relating to several allegations in office record maintenance and in matters of internal audit and in this regard a copy of the complaint letter has been forwarded by the SP, Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption to the Commissioner, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary for initiating a departmental enquiry vide letter no DGVA/C/2019/dated 07/02/2019.

Ghosh claimed that his pension-related problems have caused him mental agony, besides a plethora of other problems.
