Retd college teachers express resentment

SIVASAGAR, Oct 30 - Retired College Teachers� Association (RCTA) of provincialised colleges through a release here have expressed a strong resentment against alleged discrimination shown by the Office of the Accountant General in regards to claiming revised pension by the teachers retired before 1-04-2016 . Through an order, the AG Office (A&E) directed the retired college teachers to submit three photo copies of the first three pages of the PRO and the original Service Books along with respective applications which is not applicable to retired teachers of government degree colleges, engineering, medical or universities.

The meeting held here on October 22 and presided over by Sonaram Baruah, president of the association, demanded uniform policy of claiming revised pension and called upon the Government to remove discriminatory conditions set by the AG office. It urged upon the Additional Chief Secretary in-charge of Education to intervene in the matter and ensure uniform guidelines in matters of claiming pensions.
