Results of drawing contest on Covid-19 declared

DIBRUGARH, May 2 - The results of a State-level drawing competition titled, �Creative Minds Drawing Competition�, organised by Dibrugarh University Research Scholars� Association (DURSA) and United Hands For Social Advancement (UHSA), an NGO based in Sonitpur with an objective to create COVID-19 awareness among the masses and to engage people in some positive task during this lockdown period, were declared today.

The participants had to draw at home, based on the theme �COVID-19�, and submit the same through e-mail or WhatsApp. The last date of submission was April 7. Nakul Neog, general secretary of DURSA, claimed that the organisers received about 629 entries in three different groups (Group A: 226 entries; Group B: 278 entries and Group C: 125 entries). The organizers said they were enthused by the response from the participants.

The results were declared today based on the evaluation received from 17 evaluators from varied areas of work and expertise and the guidelines of the competition.

For Group A (Playschool to Class 3), 1st position was secured by Louis Boruah of Class 3 of Lakshminath Bezboruah Sishu Bhawan LP School, Sivasagar; 2nd position was secured by Shrijani Baruah, Class 2 of Delhi Public School, Dibrugarh and the 3rd position was bagged by Ali Khan, Class 3 of the same school.

In Group B (Class 4 to 7), 1st position was secured by Saif Ahmed, Class 4 of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Golaghat; 2nd position went to Miss Violina Boruah, Class 6 of Sivasagar Govt HS and MP School, and 3rd position was achieved by Barbee Boruah, Class 6 of Little Flower HS School, Dibrugarh.

In the senior Group C (Class 8 to 10), Prayashi Deka, Class 8 of Little Flower HS School, Dibrugarh bagged the 1st Position while Antariksa Chetia, Class 9 of BVFC Model HS School, Namrup secured the 2nd Position and 3rd position was secured by Shahid Ridad Hassan, Class 8 of Don Bosco HS School, Dibrugarh.

The organizers also informed that all the winners will be informed personally for prizes and certificates, provided once the regulatiolns of COVID-19 lockdown gets relaxed. The organizers congratulated all the winners and their guardians/teachers for their participation.
