GUWAHATI, July 15 - The State Home Department today effected a major reshuffle in the police department, transferring more than 20 senior police officers, mostly of the ranks of DIG, SP and Additional SP.
Binod Kumar, IGP (Southern Range), has been transferred and posted as IGP (Training and Armed Police). Syed Ataul Karim, DIG, BIEO, has been transferred and posted as DIG (Armed Police). Apurba Jiban Baruah, DIG (Security), has been transferred and posted as DIG (Central Range). Anurag Agarwal, DIG (Border), has been transferred and posted as DIG (Southern Range).
The SPs of Tinsukia, Hamren Police District, Karimganj, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar and Sadiya Police District have been changed.
SSP (CID) Abhijit Bora has been transferred and allowed to officiate as the DIG in-charge, CID, on a temporary basis. The SP, CM�s Security Cell, Debendra Bora has been transferred as Commandant, 1st AP Bn, Ligiripukhuri.
One Additional SP of the CM�s Security Cell has also been transferred.
