GUWAHATI, Dec 29 - The Home department today effected a reshuffle in the police department transferring and promoting six officials of the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
While Karbi Anglong SP Anurag Agarwal has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, Dima Hasao (NC Hills), SP VK Ramishetty too has been promoted and transferred as DIG of Armed Police.
Mugda Jyoti Mahanta, SP (Special Operation Unit, Guwahati) will be the new SP of Dima Hasao.
While incumbent Nagaon SP Surinder Kumar has been promoted as DIG of Special Branch, Morigaon SP Sunil Kumar will be the new SP of Nagaon.
Moreover, Paragjyoti Baruah, SP (CM Security Cell) has been transferred as SP of Morigaon.
