DIPHU, Aug 10 - Dissatifed with the medical services extended by the Health authority here in treating the COVID-19 patients, villagers of Doyangmukh, West Karbi Anglong under Kheroni PS confronted four health workers when they arrived in the village for conducting Rapid Antigen Test yesterday.
Villagers informed that on August 4, five health workers conducted COVID-19 tests in Doyangmukh, out of which 11 were positives cases. Among the positive cases, two were women. The women were taken to Kheroni Covid Care Centre and the men were admitted to Tumpreng centre.
The locals have alleged that the patients were not treated properly and that there is no proper facility in Tumpreng centre. Not to speak of doctors or paramedics, not even a night guard is on duty at the centre, they said. They further alleged that after detecting 11 Covid positive cases in Doyangmukh village, the authority concerned did not bother to declare the locality as a containment zone and did not carry out other follow-up measures.
The allegation of the villagers cannot be ignored and the callous attitude of the Health authority here needs to be probed by higher authorities to stop the spread of the deadly disease.
