TURA, June 27 - Despite repeated notices, two contractors entrusted with the task of repairing broken stretches of the NH-62 in the South Garo Hills district have refused to attend any meeting called to resolve the problems being faced by the people of the district.
An FIR was filed by the Baghmara Citizens� Forum (BCF) against the contractors for failing to repair the road despite bagging the contracts a long time back.
A source from the district administration said that the matter would be considered seriously. �We will issue warrants if the contractors continue to neglect the works given to them,� said the source.
Meanwhile, NGOs of South Garo Hills are contemplating their next course of action in this regard.
