GUWAHATI, Jan 25 - Assam along with the rest of the country is all set to celebrate India�s 71st Republic Day tomorrow.
Elaborate arrangements have been made in Guwahati where the Republic Day function will be organised centrally.
Governor Jagdish Mukhi will unfurl the National Tricolor at the College of Veterinary Science playground at 9 am and also take the guard of honour.
The Governor will also make his customary Republic Day speech addressing the people of the State. The State function will feature performances by students from schools, besides parade by members of Scouts and Guides, and NCC.
Republic Day will also be celebrated in all the district headquarters where public representatives and senior government officials will unfurl the National Flag at the respective venues.
The day will also be celebrated by educational institutions, private institutions and public at large where the Tricolour will be unfurled ceremoniously.
The Guwahati Press Club has also made arrangements for celebrating the occasion in a befitting manner.
