SILCHAR, May 22 - Hearing on a complaint petition against violation of human rights (�D� voters) filed before the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi was subsequently forwarded to the Assam State Human Rights Commission, which filed a case on the issued here on Friday.
After the hearing held at the Circuit House here, the Barak Valley and Hills Commissioner Anwar Uddin Choudhury, who was appointed by the Assam Human Rights Commission as a Special Officer, recorded the statements of journalist Arijit Aditya, Ranju Deb, president of Hindu Legal Cell, Cachar district committee, Dharmananda Deb, convener of Hindu Legal Cell, state committee, noted social worker Sadhan Purakystha, Mriganka Bhattacharjee, co-convener of Hindu Legal Cell�s State committee, Pritwish Kanti Das, president of Hindu Legal Cell, Hailakandi district committee and Dilip Kumar Das, publicity secretary of Hindu Legal Cell, Cachar district committee.
According to sources, the statements of as many as 14 persons had been recorded during the two days of hearing and a report will be placed before the Assam Human Rights Commission very soon.
