GUWAHATI, July 15 - Sumitra Doley Patir, Minister of Tourism, Assam, in the presence of high officials of the Tourism Department, inaugurated the renovated Tourist Information Counter at the arrival lounge of the LGBI Airport here today, an official release stated.
The Minister stated that the Tourist Information Counter would provide basic information to tourists visiting Assam. She also hoped that the Information Counter would provide necessary information on various tourist locations, facilities for accommodation, transportation, etc. Additional Chief Secretary VS Bhaskar has instructed the Department to man the counter till the landing of the last flight.
A redesigned department website, www. assamtourism. gov.in, was also launched. The website has a new look and is loaded with all the required information on Assam tourism.
The function was also attended by Ashutosh Agnihotri, Commissioner & Secretary, Tourism, Assam, Manoj Kumar Deka, Director of Tourism, and Manik Kumar Sharma, Managing Director, ATDC.
