GUWAHATI, Jan 27: The renovated building of Red Cross Hospital, Chandmari was inaugurated today for public service by Samir Kumar Sinha, (Principal Secretary, Health & FW, Assam) by lighting a lamp in the presence of Dr S Lakshmanan, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Assam and a host of other dignitaries including the former Chairman of Assam State Branch Minoti Choudhury, noted gynaecologist Dr Alaka Goswami, members of the Indian Red Cross Society, Guwahati District Branch and members of other branches and other distinguished personalities. This was stated in a press release.

The chairman, Guwahati District Branch AK Absar Hazarika took the senior government officials around the hospital complex and showed the facilities currently available. In a brief programme held on the occasion, the chairman gave an account about the Red Cross Hospital and expressed his desire to promote the hospital by inducting facilities to boost inpatient and outpatient services. Sinha in his speech expressed his satisfaction at the facilities available in the hospital and expressed his desire to tie up different government programmes with Red Cross Hospital for improvement of mother and child care services.
