TURA, Aug 9 - The flood-affected plains belt on Monday received assistance in the form of relief materials after Round Table India (RTI), Shillong, along with the district administration of West Garo Hills, came to its aid after a meeting at the DRDA conference hall here.
Amit Singhania, chairman of Round Table India, Shillong, said that it had contacted the Deputy Commissioner and it was under his guidance that they were able to extend their assistance. He also expressed his gratitude to the National Board Round Table, India, for providing them monetary support and to the Marwari Mahila Samiti, Shillong, Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Samiti, Shillong, friends and family members for their support and contributions.
Two truckloads of relief materials were handed over to the Block Development Officer, Selsella C&RD Block, PR Sangma, which were meant to be distributed among the flood-affected in the district.
