MANGALDAI, May 5 � In a goodwill gesture for the earthquake affected people of Nepal, the 37th Battalion SSB, here has dispatched a truck loaded with relief materials including food articles, ration, clothes, utensils and some necessary items to Nepal.
Manoj Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Darrang in presence of Vivek Raj Singh, Superintendent of Police, Darrang, Om Prakash, Officiating Commandant of the SSB 37th Bn and other officers and jawans of the battalion on Monday flagged off this aid mission from the campus of the battalion headquarters at Gelaidingi near here, stated a press release.
The said relief materials were collected from public and different non-government organisations of Udalguri district and those residing within the SSB jurisdiction along Indo-Bhutan border. People donated voluntarily responding to the appeal made by the SSB jawans in the area.
