RANGIYA, Aug 20 - In a bid to help the flood-hit families under Rangiya subdivision, volunteers of Zomato Feed India and Earthfull Foundation under the initiative of local youth and PG student Nitul Kalita distributed relief material in the flood-hit Dhepargaon village.

The village was badly affected and most areas, including cropland, were damaged, besides standing paddy crop being inundated under flood water.

Members of the two organisations distributed food items like rice, flattened rice, crispy rice, water bottles, soap, milk powder, biscuits, etc., among the affected people and needy families.

Essential items were distributed among over 700 families of Soprabari, Pachim Dhepargaon, Goroimari, Boralimara, Jonapar, Baribandha, Mohghuli and Botabari areas.

The members also visited the flood-hit areas and interacted with the victims to take stock of their needs and sufferings of village people whose movable and immovable properties were completely damaged.

The local people lauded the philanthropic move by the organisations in a bid to help the affected people. It may be mentioned here that two successive waves of flood this year has inflicted heavy damage on many families living in the villages within Rangiya subdivision, besides in Rangiya town.
