By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Dec 14 - The All Guwahati Traders Association today urged Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to ensure prompt rehabilitation of the traders whose shops were destroyed in a fire at Fancy Bazar on November 11.

In a memorandum to the Chief Minister, the association also called for temporary arrangements for the affected traders to restart their businesses. Making an arrangement of at least Rs 10 lakh per shop as grant for the traders from the government would help them jump out of the adverse situation. We also request you to initiate steps for further upgrading the fire and emergency services. We also request you to negotiate with some banks to ensure that the affected traders get low-interest easy loan, it said.
