GUWAHATI, July 5 - A two-day annual refresher training programme on agricultural statistics in Kamrup Metro and Kamrup districts was held here on July 2-3 here under the aegis of the Directorate of Economics & Statistics.
The event was inaugurated by Joint Director of Economics & Statistics (Agricultural Division) Ponaram Das. In his speech, Das highlighted the aims and objectives of the training programme.
During the training, detailed discussions were held on crop estimation survey (CES), land utilisation statistics (LUS), crop forecast, improvement of crop statistics (ICS) and areca nut coconut fruits and vegetable (ACFV) survey.
Resource persons from the directorate gave suggestions for better performance in the field-level survey works and improvement of agriculture-related survey and overall improvement of the agricultural sector in the two districts.
Officers and staff from the revenue and agriculture departments and from the Sub-Divisional Statistical Office, Rangia, were also present in the training programme.
