Reformation of drug control policy sought

IMPHAL, June 29 - The Association of Drug Users Manipur (ADUM) and Harm Reduction Network Manipur (HRNM) called for reformation of the drug control policies, implementation of more public health services and decriminalisation of people who use drugs (PUD).

The advisers and functionaries of ADUM and HRNM made their appeal during a press conference at the office of Social Awareness Service Organisation (SASO), a pioneer organisation in implementing hard reduction programmes in dealing with PUD and people living with HIV in the state, on Friday.

The press conference was held as part of observing �Support. Don�t Punish� a global grassroot-centred initiative in support of harm reduction and drug policies that prioritise public health and human rights.
