GUWAHATI, May 31 � The United Workmen Union, Guwahati Refinery has temporarily called off its general strike scheduled on June 1 and 2 following a Gauhati High Court direction.
In a release issued to the press, the union said that the Guwahati Refinery authorities instead of resolving the genuine grievances of the contractual labourers had approached the High Court. The union alleged that the Guwahati Refinery which is amongst the top profit earning units is ignoring the grievances of the contractual labourers.
