Refinery observes Anti-terrorism Day

GUWAHATI, May 23 � The employees of Guwahati Refinery, the top management and the security forces took a pledge against terrorism at the Refinery administrative building lawnson Saturday, a press release said.

This day observed every year as Anti-terrorism Day in memory of Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

At Guwahati Refinery, all the employees and security forces, including CISF and Home Guards, took the pledge in Assamese, Hindi and English and vowed to shun all forms of violence and promote peace and harmony amongst all fellow human beings.

G Bhanumurthy, Executive Director, while addressing the gathering talked about how small irreconcilable differences between groups of people, groups of countries or any other group lead to acts of violence. He referred to the unrest prevailing in different parts of the country that have emerged out of all these differences.

Meanwhile, the officers and staff of Northeast Frontier Railway Construction Organisation also observed the Day in the office premises by taking pledge for working to promote peace, social harmony and understanding among all human beings by opposing terrorism and violence in the society.
