Red, Green in control

GUWAHATI, Aug 3 - Red and Green teams are in comfort zone in the Challenger Trophy cricket tournament organized by the Assam Cricket Association among the probables of the senior team.

At the DN Singha Stadium, Goalpara, Blue were all out for 111 in their first innings and in reply Red team scored 117 for the loss of six wickets on the opening day of the two-day encounter.

At the Judges� Field here batting first the Green team amassed a massive 375 for five in 80 overs. At stumps their opponent Red A team was reduced to 12 for three.

The highlight of the Green team was centuries by opener Pallav Das (165) and skipper Sib Sankar Roy (117). Arup Das took all the three wickets for Green giving away just two runs.

Brief scores: Blue ACA 1st innings 111 (Hrishikesh Borah 23, Abhilash Gogoi 4/11, Pritam Das 3/10). Red ACA 1st innings 117/6 (Gokul Sharma 38, Abhilash Gogoi 33, Chanakya Sarma 2/20, Hrishikesh Borah 2/39).

Green ACA 375/5 (Pallav Das 165, Sib Sankar Roy 117, Roshan Basfor 2/56). Red A ACA 12/3 (Arup Das 3/2).
